Introduction to Additional Clinical Roles
We understand that patients may not know what each of the clinical roles are that we have employed here at the surgery so we have decided to introduce members of our team and new members of staff who are employed in roles that you may not know much about. Over the next few weeks we will be introducing more members of our team so that you can get to know a bit about them, their role and their clinical backgrounds.
The first person we are introducing is Alison Storer (Ali). She will be joining our team from Monday 18 July as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Ali qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1985 and following on from this she enlisted in the Royal Air Force in 1986. During her period of service Ali converted to a Registered Nurse (RGN). She continued her service and within the RAF she worked in various roles including Primary Care, Secondary Hospital Care and was also deployed overseas in Military Operating Environments as a RAF Nurse. After 17 years of service, Ali left the RAF to enjoy motherhood and since this time she has been employed within the NHS as well as going on to gain a BSc in Respiratory Care, a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and a further MSc Module in Paediatric Urgent Care. During Ali's time in the NHS she has worked as a Community Respiratory Specialist Nurse and more recently as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in General Practice.
Ali is currently able to see patients with both chronic and acute medical conditions, however she does not see patients under 8 weeks old or patients with pregnancy related conditions. Ali is a Prescriber and can prescribe medications for both acute and chronic conditions.
Ali has a specialist interest in dealing with complex respiratory illness including severe asthma in both adults and children and also severe COPD.
